I got into the farm game kind of late. I didn’t want to dedicate the time to build a good farm. That all changed when I decided not to loot people in my server. I knew that I would progress slow. Then thought, well maybe 2 farms would be suffice.

I had accounts in the servers that were within my range group and I didn’t want to act on them as I didn’t know what was going on and I didn’t want any issues with people. Again, I am not into espionage or sabotage type of play, I just want to have fun and to be stress free.

Catalyst 1 – Alkonost

I won’t go into detail, but I felt I owed Alkonost resources. I thought about when my farms in 229 would be good enough, she could get some resources. I didn’t know how that would look to my team or even 229 in general. As there is always an emphasis on “don’t let the other server get your resources”. That is when I decided to try and build a farm in 230 with the intentions of them serving Alkonost.

Catalyst 2 – 226

We made spam accounts for the SvS capital clash in 226. I was going to abandon the bases (I made 2), but I wondered if I could play there. The only person I talked to in the past was Equus and he was the president at the time. I didn’t know if I would be accepted and revealed that I wanted to stay and play my farm accounts. KisS was very accepting and I decided that they could use my farms to get resources.

Theory Of Using The Farms during SvS

While I did make these farms and joined farm alliances, I really didn’t know how I would benefit from them. There was always the idea of people using them and that became a way for me to get to know more people (which to me enriches my gameplay).

I then thought, “If there is an AD/VS connected to 229, maybe I could let the farm alliance know that I would be there to loot my farms.” One the other hand, if the farm alliance has an AD/VS in 229, I could bring the farm to me.

Of course the biggest variable is when. I recently, I was able to execute these ideas.

We had S3P (226 Alliance) and I was able to go to my KisS food trucks and get from them!

This past weekend, my 230 Sins Farm had AD/VS with a 229 Alliance and I brough the farm to my location!

Additional Benefits

While people solely look at farms to get resources from and that is the main purpose, I looked at these farms as a way to build friendships. They were made to help my friends get some resources on top of what they do already.

The idea of sharing a farm really was intriguing to me. Yes, I would give up some time, but in all honestly, I’m just sending and gathering resources and the only siginficant time is getting them to level 18, where I feel comfortable they are decent.

Another benefit is playing differently. It’s a more simple existence, which is just being a farmer. While I do stay out of World Chats and drama, every server has different ways on how it functions (or dysfunctions) and it is interesting to observe the relationships and how they are handled to better the server.

I’ve been fortunate to be able to play my main account under NAP protections in 229. I do get that same benefit with the farm accounts as they are an extention of some of the NAP alliances. The social contract of NAP varies from server to server or state to state. So it is adapting and understanding how it is different. In 226, there is a No NAP day right after SvS/EB. So you have to be on alert. Again adapting to different rules in a different environment.

Fun Factor

For me, there is an added factor. I get to be absolutely goofy with this idea. Ever since my 1st farm, I decided to imagine them as Food trucks. This also gives me the freedom to make a fake menu and use William as chef. It’s almost a signature of mine.

I get to have different types of food truck set ups (pictures) and imagine the different themes. This gives me a bit of creative freedom.

It is funny when I do bring the farms close to each other LOL.
