After SvS, some of us started on the newest server, which is only days old. Server 584.

The original idea was to just play around as S2 isn’t as exciting and have fun. There was this idea of playing with no restrictions.

Honestly at 1st we didn’t even care and made stipulations of “no spending” and no attachment.

That is hard because you know what advantages are worth getting and when building, what to focus on to help increase you characters leveling. The knowledge and past experience you have now, you want to apply it to this new server.

Of course, we all fall for the “Spent Cost fallacy” which subscribes that we have to play because we invested so much into it. It’s that easy to get attached.

The nostalgic S1 setting (green) and how pretty much everyone is on the same level makes it refreshingly fun. While on my main and farms.. it’s routine stuff daily… it isn’t as exciting.

Starting fresh and just knowing what to do (in retrospect) you focus on what you know. You do get frustrated (especially not paying for things) with slow progress, weak offense and how slower of a pace it can be. Reinforcing a base and getting knocked because it only has 2 reinforcement slots.

Cons

Remember that thing about no attachment? Well, depends on how you look at it, but you get people joining the alliance and you build a bond with them, even though its been 7 days. These people become loyal and eager to learn. Some realize that we couldn’t give them 100% as our mains are the focus.

No spending – While I have spent a few dollars to get 2nd builder and even fuel.. I didn’t want to spend anymore… and well, that no spending limits me a bit. While people that are kinda in the same boat (on other servers) want to be the whale of the server, so they’ve spent money. One guy was level 24 in 6 days lol.

Goal?

I am unsure. It’s fun and has been a tiny bit of stress relieve compared to the mains. We miss this time and with how things are on our main server (NAP) and other things, it’s more of that people are doing daily activities and farming until SvS or EB happens.

One goal I liked, was getting the Rise of Doom base. You have 7 days to get 8million in power.

Another topic that came to us having new members, is that we have to help them the best we can. No attachment… but that is hard when you do make a connection. We need to make sure we sent them up for success.

I was talking with my friend Eve was trying to nudge her to join.. but she was thinking we were all going out to be on top in a new server, she mentioned S2… and I was honest with her, I don’t think we are gonna make it to season 2. Maybe a month in and it’s done.

Conclusion?

I still haven’t come to a complete conclusion. While I was playing for fun, and even my teammates, we all know that we can get frustrated and even competitive… so we shall see how this plays out in a shortish long term.
