Introduction

I am a non looting player from 229. Mid Season 1, I started to get onto the farming accounts idea. I originally didn’t want to have farm accounts as it takes time, but I realized that I could have extra resources that could help me supplement since I don’t loot people.

This idea was reinforced once I saw a smaller alliance I was friends with get decimated by 3 of the big alliances and my old alliance members. I decided that night I don’t want to loot people in 229. This eventually expanded out as one of my friends in 230 had her farms looted by my teammate.

I made accounts in every server from 225-232. I started working on 2 farms in 230 in an attempt to repay my friend.

Then during SvS with 226, 229 players made spam accounts to put around the 226 capital. Afterwards, I decided to play my accounts and got permission from KisS to join their farms.

I remember VOID Eve setting up 100 farms in S1 and she mentioned that when S2 starts, we couldn’t make new accounts.. that is when I decided to start working on my other farms on the other servers.

Why farms on different servers? The way I am playing this game, I DON’T WANT TO LOOT PLAYERS. I thought it would be interesting if I could loot my farms during an intersection of servers, such as EB or SvS.

General rules

  • Join a farm alliance – the more active, the better. The residual resources and help is worth it.
  • Be respectful – Don’t go into WCs, don’t cause drama, stay out of any unnecessary conversations. JUST FARM.
  • Be Truthful – it’s okay to play discretely, but if leaders ask questions, be HONEST. If they ask you leave, that is okay.
  • Make sure they understand you are not a chaos agent or doing espionage. JUST FARM.
  • Help out if an event is happening. Reinforce bases for Zombie Siege for example. This depends on time and how busy I am.
  • Offer up RSS or have the farm be a co-op. I won’t be able to always reach my farm, so it’s okay to share the RSS with someone.

Daily Farming tasks

Farm Logistics

After SvS reset, see which farms can intersect with other farms for the next EB/SvS. Really, this is for pictures to get my food trucks together.

I can intersect them and loot them if I go to a neutral server between my main and farms.

Transfer RSS

Another way I have used my food truck is to transfer RSS from one to another. One of my food trucks was getting really heavy with RSS. I didn’t have direct access to it with my main account. I did have a farm that could go between the servers that EB. I decided that I transferred RSS to one farm and brought that farm to the server where I had access to it.

Diplomacy

While most of my food trucks were originally for me to loot, I do realize the pitfalls. My 232 farm was getting pretty juicy, but I didn’t have diamonds for a shield. At the time, I was playing discretely, but I offered my RSS to the R4 of the farms and she didn’t want to take them as I worked for them (Thank you Crystal). I kept offering to her as I was afraid that I would lose them during EB. Luckily I was able to get enough crit to buy a shield.

Offering RSS is also a symbolic gesture of my intentions being in an alliance. I’d rather share my RSS with someone I know rather than get looted and lose them. When I do have access to my farm, I can loot it.

This cooperation of sharing RSS and playing with people on the farm builds a relationship. There is a farm alliance where there are players from 4 different alliances and I’ve build trust with them. So much that it becomes a bit of a diplomatic relationship. Where I won’t ever attack them and vice versa.

This type of diplomacy and trust has also brought allies with alliances. I was building 2 farms in 230 discretely when I was discovered. I don’t lie, so I explained it to the main alliance’s R5. She was super friendly and we’ve built a trusting relationship. This as expanded to our alliances having a lot of agreements and communication. It has also extended a bit to 226 KisS as Born and I have cultivated a good relationship with the R4s of the main alliance.

Once communication opens, it becomes easier to talk to people and have fun. This again, builds an interpersonal relationship.

Bank

When you have a farm on the same server as your main account, it’s easy to collect and save and loot them any time. When you have them on another server, you don’t know when you will have access to them. For awhile, I was getting them pretty heavy with resources. This resembled a bank in which you can’t make a withdrawal right away, but maybe down the line. When I did have access to them, I would hit loot cap.

The pitfall of saving this much RSS is that you can be a target from someone looking to loot.

Planning of Loot

After doing the logistics and planning, I usually shield right before reset and start the shifting and teleporting. Usually I do wait a couple hours before I start to set up to loot myself. While I do set up my food trucks for pictures, when it is time to loot, I will start finding a place to go.

I like to find a place that is far away from alliances and somewhat away from the edge of the map (where there are bases being scouted). Finding that discrete place to attack and loot my farm is fun. But I’ve also been caught of guard and I had to make sure a random teleport was available.

Shield efficiency – I usually shield right before EB reset. I’ve noticed that the farms I will loot, I break their shields early. Sometimes, even multiple times a night. So now, I plan to look at how to be more efficient. I think maybe shielding earlier and coordinate a time and place to loot and bring the there.

Unintended Rewards

When I put the “Looting my farm in a different server” theory into practice, I was only thinking about getting the resources. That was my goal, to get additional RSS.

I didn’t realize this:

  • I would get VS points
  • VS points leads to reward chests
  • Hitting loot cap/plunder limit

I didn’t realize by looting my own farms, I could get points and rewards. You can see I haven’t really gotten these types of rewards before.

UPDATE: Sending supply trucks

I didn’t think of this idea because many of the orange trucks have high defense and many of the high powered players usually go after those. With my OG F2P account, I was significantly weaker heroes… that I didn’t even to attack.

One of my friends, I shall keep her anonymous for now, manages a couple farm accounts. She would send Orange trucks and since it’s from a farm account, the heroes were not strong and I was able to get some rewards such as orange fragments with my OG F2P account.

  • Trucks can only be sent out 4 times per 24 hours
  • Trucks can only be hit twice (and the
  • Attackers can only loot 4 times
  • I can attempt to get orange fragments
  • Leftover loot goes to the account that sent the trucks
  • Get VS points

If I sent myself trucks (from other servers) both accounts, whether attacking or sending, will get rewards. Having multiple options farm accounts, I can send a good amount to myself and others.

I didn’t realize how beneficial this would be for me.

It’s Still An Account

While I do play these accounts as a farm, they are still accounts and if I wanted to, I could make them regular accounts. They will just be behind in leveling and that takes more time.

There are people who do their farms as F2P and have leveled them to be pretty strong. I haven’t gotten to that level as I have 13 farms. As I will mention in another section, if I can’t reach the farms, I’ll start to upgrade.

226 was a lesson in this. I was getting them filled with RSS and when civil war broke out, they were attacked. This made me realize while things are fairly safe, sometimes it’s still good to not save up as much. I started to make a limit and also upgrade the base and buildings as I see fit.

I was recently asked by an R5 to join their alliance with my farm account. I told the R5, if I did, I would have a long road to get it up to standard. Luckily, the R5 said no pressure and it was really for moral support and to keep conversations going.

Now now I play that account as a growing main account.

Pitfalls

There are a few pitfalls when it comes to having farms on different servers.

  • 1. You never know the next time you can loot the farm.
    • Having a farm on a server that you don’t have access to all the time can make you ignore it/out of sight, out of mind.
  • 2. More time you spend on the farms.
    • Depending on your goal (mine is VERY BASIC), you will spend a good amount of time building up the farm initially. Afterwards, it depends on what you want to do. Since I am F2P (free to play) I have spent minimal money. But I know people absolutely start building up their farms as a 2nd account.
    • Not only are you getting resources for you to save or upgrade, but you need to get shields for those EB/SvS or when there is an event when everything is a target.
  • 3. Juggling multiple accounts.
    • Having multiple accounts on one server can consume jumping back and forth between accounts. I have 3 accounts on 229, 2 accounts on 226 and 2 accounts in 230.
    • Also jumping from one server to another server isn’t bad, but it does take time.
  • 4. They are SUSCEPTIBLE!!!
    • Since they are on another server, you can’t really protect them with your main. Usually, I am in an alliance that is NAP, but that doesn’t make it protected from rogue players or in the case of 226… CIVIL WAR. Farms get targeted.
    • Also during EB/SvS, you can put a shield up, but you have to time it and make sure it’s covered the whole time. Even with 24hr shields, farms can be hit last 5 minutes.
  • 5. Leveling.
    • While people do level them up, some put time to build them into strong 2nd or 3rd accounts. I have multiple farms, so that takes more time and I also am F2P. So the progress is really behind.
    • Technology research/lab will be behind as it is one lab and I am not playing consistently.
    • Digs – sometimes the digs go unclaimed and sometimes I miss out on things I would really want such as wrenches.
  • 6. Expanded Server group.
    • It was revealed that 233 to 240 servers were added into our group. This means more EB/SvS with them and that makes getting our usual 225-232 opponents not as common. This means I might be able to get to my farms as frequent.
  • 7. Migration.
    • I have 3 farms in 229. This makes my RSS gathering WAY easier. Moving to another server, I have to leave them behind and with the aforementioned expanded server range interaction, how often will I get a chance to drain them?
    • While 3 farms are unique for me, our whole farm alliance will be left behind. Some of our players have built their farms to be strong accounts too.
    • While I do have 1 farm in this migrated server, it might be enough for me. But for the alliance that is constantly increase in RSS demand, it will be difficult to keep up as we might have to share a farm.

Conclusion

Playing a bit of PVE, finding a way to be more resourceful, build friendships, diplomacy and also having fun with the farms, it’s been interesting. I’ve been doing so much and honestly with some of these changes, it can be a bit more of a challenge.
