Okay, having 13 farms on different servers is a juggle. While people have made their guides, some in which I follow and some I wish I had followed (with explanation), I wanted to give my routine.
My farms are basic. I’ve only upgraded what I needed to upgrade and enough to start collecting resources. Only recently I started to put more time into completing exploration and upgrading more structures. This was due to my main not being able to reach my farm and it becomes almost a target.
Daily tasks
Once I get one, always getting in the headquarters and doing the tasks. I try to spend MINIMAL time, maybe 5 minutes.
1. When I see the “Helping Hands”, that is the 1st thing I hit. Just to help those in the alliance.
2. Then collect the free gifts (common gifts are usually at 99+, and some in rare).
3. Alliance tech donations – to me this essential. I hate that you can only donate 20 at a time. It is essential in a sense that I have donated to get enough crit coins to buy shields.
4. Collect Free Fuel. There is what Katrina brings you (on top of your base) and when you go to Black Market shop, some there too.
5. Athena’s scrap gathering in front of the base.
6. Check Mail – Often times there are rewards under system and alliance tab. Also you can see if someone scouted you or who looted/attacked you.
7. Collect from around the base – this is your structures that have accumulate zent, energy, food and wood.
8. I usually also hit radar and collect what I can. If I have time, I’ll send help or do some of those tasks.
9. Send out the trucks to collect RSS – usually 2:1 ratio of food to wood. I would usually send my 3rd march to Alliance food or wood as well. When I get low on diamonds (I usually like to stockpile about 9k worth of diamonds), I will send trucks out to get some.
10. Even though I send my trucks to collecting, I still put on the auto join for boomers. That way when they are done collecting and come back to base, they will still collect items while I’m offline.
11. If I walk into a Zombie Siege or Furylord, I will join in. How long depends on how much time I have.
Upgrading
When I embarked on the farm journey, my intentions were to keep them as farms. So that kept my upgrading to a minimal. I know I won’t be there for every dig and so I will miss out on major upgrades components such as wrenches.
A few of my farms have a 2nd builder and that helps with the upgrading a bit. What I started to do is upgrade some of the other structures that could help the base be stronger. Wall, Formation Wall, troops and military base. These have become somewhat of my priority.
Upgrading the truck – originally, I didn’t care about upgrading the truck. It is rough because you’re so weak that you can’t take on zombies or help to even fight back when there are players invading. If I had only one farm, maybe I could concentrate on it more, but I have too many lol. Now, I do try to upgrade as much as possible.
Upgrading Heroes – I was only doing very minimal again. Not really caring so much as I just wanted my heroes to be strong enough to do exploration to expand the base.
Converting farm to a ‘2nd main‘
This concept never crossed my mind. I feel the main takes a lot more time and having another one will be rough. I do this on my phone, so I don’t have multiple accounts open on my computer to play them. This did change for me as I was asked to join an alliance of my friend. I started to focus on upgrading structures and heroes. Making a farm to a main account is tough.. because I am so far behind on power and upgrades, but it is a challenge I am willing to do. The people in the alliance seem to be receptive, but they also don’t know it’s me.
Regrets? Yes.
- I wish I started these farms in the beginning. I had accounts, but didn’t put work into them until towards the end of Season 1.
- I would have put a bit more effort into upgrading heroes and truck.
- If I had a decent base, it would be better to use as a 2nd account.
In conclusion, these are my basic tasks. I wish I had thought about it earlier on and I would have made them a bit stronger. I never thought I would actually play
