Hello Leaders of 229.
I’m writing to you as an independent person, that way I will try to navigate some issues with as much unbias as possible.
There are no personal attacks or mocking on my end. My tone is also at the level of normal conversation. No witty comebacks or shouting to get a point across.
Mental health check
It’s been a rough week as we did have extensions of Pad and a direct member of FAFO passed away. I hope everyone is coping with these losses.
I take grieving seriously, and I will be vulnerable for a second. I grew up with gang violence and I have buried a few friends over the most insignificant reasons. I’m still coping 20+ yrs later.
If you are feeling burnt out, there is NO SHAME in that. Please inform your team members that you need to take a break. This game might be the only escape mechanism from the real world and if you start getting too emotionally vested.. You’re going to get burnt out too. Let someone trusted take off your account or just shield up during Enemy Buster.
YOUR PROGRESS MAY NOT BE AS FAST, BUT YOUR WELL BEING WON’T DETERIORATE AS FAST NEITHER.
Detach from the game and clear your mind.
There is nothing wrong with being vulnerable and being honest about it. Maybe your online persona is your mask. Take off your mask to your close friends and release any held back emotions to them.
EVERYONE IS IMPORTANT IN OUR STATE.

NAP10
What’s the definition of NAP10 (rhetorical, but ask yourself) and do we need to
and reexamine it?
What’s the foundation and what’s its purpose and has it lost its meaning?
Why abide by it if you are not committed to it?
We set NAP as a guideline that we all committed to follow (at least of those of us in it).
If there are violations of these commitments, we should have punishment according to the severity or recurrence of said issue.
I think the downfall of it is that we are afraid to lose power (if I understand it correctly is more about troops being at level) and what? Lose ranking of NAP? Once you heal up, levels will be back to normal. If we do hold ourselves to not lose troops in fear of losing power, then people will not engage in battle as much.
R5
I look at the role of an R5 as a pillar of not just the alliance it leads, but NAP and our server. With that said, there is more of a burden of responsibility on the immediate people of their respective teams, but on the rest of the server.
It’s a leadership position and comes with how to conduct yourself professionally and personally.
This is that responsibility to be a rational thinking person. Own up to mistakes and do what is best for the respective alliance and server. Ask yourself, Would you give up your power/position if you were found to be in severe violation.
If you are irrational and just want control and power, you will lose respect. To me, I don’t care about control or power, but respect is almost invaluable.
Words are our currency and communication is valued. Maybe there are a lot of barriers and even some divisions going on… but no cohesion doesn’t mean we don’t have to have no collaboration. We don’t have to be best friends but that doesn’t mean we can’t coordinate things together.
If we have that deep separation, the dialogue/exchange of ideas won’t be as great and things become more of passive information.
Speaking in general, It’s demoralizing to see that an issue wouldn’t be handled the same way if it was another team. We have this mentality of “It’s not my problem, I don’t care”.
If we can get better at unity, we should also share the burden of the server rather than it falling on one person. It’s too stressful and those personalities that like a bit more chaos, should be put in check.
Personal perspective
If I ever violate any guidelines either by accident or intention, I will always own up to my mistakes as I am a responsible person.
While I was on my ahem, date, ahem, Eve mentinoned something that I didn’t expect. She was explaining here game play and she said this:

I agree with this sentiment as well. This doesn’t just show you how I am, but I always want to be a leading example to players to learn from.
I don’t fear losing power or rss… but I do want to make sure to keep the mutual respect intact.
I hope this can give you some insight from a lower level looking up.
Thanks for your time,
f31roger, R3
